On the 4th of July 2023, the Atap Langit Foundation held a meeting in Limalas Village to discuss environmental issues with the local indigenous community, village government, and the Raja Ampat churches.
The meeting which was held on Misool Island, Raja Ampat was attended by several indigenous leaders and customary land rights holders who have a critical role in their community. This meeting is an important opportunity to understand local values and deepen relationships with each other.
A formal mandate was agreed upon by the indigenous leaders, village heads and pastors. This agreement means that the Atap Langit Ecoeducation Foundation will have the full support of the local community to carry out educational and conservation activities on Limalas Village. Our programs involve activities that aims to increase environmental awareness and knowledge while simultaneously supporting their livelihoods.
